Abstract: Abstract Effect of Active Assistive Range of Motion to Blood Sugar Levels in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type II at H Adam Malik Medan General Hospital in 2019 Diabetes mellitus (DM) is inability of the pancreas to produce the hormone insulin or the body's cells cannot properly use insulin produced by pancreas. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) reports that in 21 seconds one person has diabetes mellitus. It is estimated that the number will reach 350 million by 2025, dominant in Asia, especially in India, China, Pakistan and Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of active assistive range of motion (AAROM) on reducing blood sugar levels in type II DM patients. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi experimental research design with one group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were 302 people. A sample of 16 respondents were obtained using the Slovin technique. In this study, the analysis of independent variables with the dependent uses the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study found that the value of p (0.01) <α (0.05) has the effect of AAROM exercise on blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, meaning that there were significant differences in average blood sugar levels before and after. It is recommended to nurses as providers of nursing care to make this exercise nurse's independent actions in improving health services.
