Abstract

ABSTRACT Total population and population growth rate is still a problem in the world, and one attempts to do to suppress the increase of population is the family planning program. Since 1997 family planning programs have stagnated, so participants KB does not match the specified targets. District of the Kecamatan Siantar Timur with the lowest levels of participation KB Pematangsiantar City, with the participation of KB 61% is still lower than the minimum standard of achievement is 70% Pematangsiantar. This type of survey research with a cross-sectional design, aiming to clarify the influence of sociodemographic and cultural factors with KB's wife EFA participation in the Kecamatan Siantar Timur of the City Pematangsiantar Siantar. Sampling of 120 people, using the technique of sampling purvosive. The data was collected using a questionnaire interview. Bivariate data analysis methods with chi square and multivariate logistic regression with a double. Bivariate test results show that variables related to participation KB namely: age (p = 0.019), occupation (p = 0.012), and traditions / customs of family planning in the family (p = 0.021).
