STUDI LITERATUR EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK DAUN SENDOK (Plantago mayor L) SEBAGAI PENURUNAN KADAR GULA DARAH

Abstract

One of the natural ingredients that can be used as traditional medicine is Sendok leaf (Plantago major L.) which is a weed in tea and rubber plantations, or wild plants in the fields. Sendok leaves have various benefits from root to leaf and are believed to be efficacious as an antidiabetic drug. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Sendok leaves can be used to reduce blood glucose levels in experimental animals. The research method used was the study of literature. Namely research focuses on collecting data and facts, data obtained from the literature in accordance with the problem to be studied, read, record, and analyze the literature data accordingly. The results of the literature study showed that some of the chemical content of choline, chorium, niacin and flavonoids present in Sendok Leaves are efficacious as antidiabetic in experimental animals and search results. Literature studies of the two journals showed that, in the first journal, Ethanol Extract from Sendok Leaves Dose of 1000 mg / body weight namely reducing blood glucose levels in mice. And in the second study, using a dose of 1.5 g / body weight has the efficacy of reducing blood glucose levels in white rats. The conclusion of this study is that the administration of body weight leaf extract has the effect of reducing blood glucose levels from 145.87 mg / dl to 46.02 mg / dl in experimental animals.
