Abstract: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is defined as a disease or chronic metabolic disorder with etiology which is characterized by high blood sugar levels accompanied by impaired carbohydrate and protein metabolism as a result of lack of the hormone insulin. Decreasing blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic conditions can be done with herbal therapy. One form of herbal therapy is to use 96% ethanol extract and guava leaf cooking water. This guava leaf contains falvonoid and tannin. This study aims to determine whether guava leaves have an antidiabetic effect based on literature studies. This research was a literature study, with research using guava leaves and collecting references. The results of the study concluded that in the form of research journals and antidiabetic books showed that guava leaves with dose of 300 mg / kg body weight and 600 mg / kg body weight can reduce fasting blood sugar levels when from 257.6 mg / dL to 107.8 mg / dL more effective than the administration of water boiled guava leaves to produce a decrease in blood glucose levels in the body. From the results of the first literary journal and the second literary journal, it can be concluded that the administration of Guava leaves with different dosage and dosage forms has efficacy as a decrease in blood sugar levels.
