Abstract: | Ultraviolet is a carcinogen that has various negative effects in skin such as skin redness, skin feels like burning, loss of skin elasticity and can trigger the growth of skin cancer. To avoid skin problems that occur due to sun exposure is needed protection in the form of sunscreen. Sunscreen products have a role to reduce the dose of UV radiation so that it can prevent skin damage. The purpose of this study was to describe of knowledge, attitudes and practice of the use of sunscreens inwomen students at SMAN 1 AekSongsongan. Research was used descriptive methods with 58 samples taken by random sampling techniques. The results showed that respondents' knowledge categorywas 21 respondents (36.21%) were good, 18 respondents (31.03%) were moderate, 14 respondents (24.14%) were poor, 5 respondents (8.62%) were bad. The study result of respondent's attitude was showed that 31 respondents (53.45%) were very good category, 27 respondents (46.55%) were good and there was no respondent's attitude with poor or bad category. The study result of respondent's actions category showed that 11 respondents (18.96%) were good, 23 respondents (39.67%) were moderate, 13 respondents (22.41%) were poor, and 11 respondents (18.96%) were bad. The conclusion of this study was women students‟ knowledge was in the good category, attitudes was in very good and actions was in poor category. |
