GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN, SIKAP DAN TINDAKAN NARAPIDANA TERHADAP PENYAKIT TUBERKULOSIS DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN PEMUDA KELAS III LANGKAT

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a disease of the respiratory tract caused by the bacterium mycobacterium, multiplying in parts of the body where there is a lot of blood flow and oxygen. Langkat Class III Juvenile Prison fosters 712 prisoners who are vulnerable to Tuberculosis infections as a result of the concurrent use of goods and minimal room cleanliness. This study aims to determine the description of knowledge, attitudes and actions of prisoners towards Tuberculosis in Langkat Class III Juvenile Prison. This research is a descriptive survey study, 88 inmates were used as research samples obtained through random sampling techniques. Through the study, the following data are known: the majority (49%) of respondents are adults, (52%) have received basic education, (67%) have served a sentence of more than three years, and (48%) previously worked in the entrepreneurial sector; 76 respondents (86%) have a good level of knowledge, 43 respondents (49%) have enough categorical attitudes, and 56 respondents (64%) have enough action in the category. The data above was obtained because the majority of respondents were adults and had a basic education so that they had good absorption of information or counseling about Tuberculosis provided by the Penitentiary. Through research it can be concluded that the level of respondents' knowledge in the good category (77%), the level of respondents' attitudes in the moderate category (57%) and the level of respondents' actions in the moderate category (64%).
