Abstract: | Betel leaf (Piper betle L.) is one of the medicinal plants which is believed to be efficacious for healing burns. Burns are damage to body tissue caused by high temperatures. Betel leaf contains tannin compounds, saponins and flavonoids. The aim of this study is to determine the concentration level of gel and emulgel of betel leaf extract which has an effect similar to bioplacenton as a burn medicine in rabbits. This research is a literature study conducted through data collection, compilation, analysis, and drawing conclusions about the literature study conducted. Secondary data is obtained online from journals, books or ebooks. Through research it is known that in literature I betel leaf extract gel concentration of 20% gives a healing percentage of 60.83% for 14 days, provides the fastest healing effect and is almost the same as the bioplacenton effect for burns in rabbits, and in Literature II it is stated that emulgel Betel leaf extract concentration of 45% gives a healing percentage of 99.1% in the duration of 14 days, has the fastest healing effect, almost the same as the effect of bioplacenton on rabbit burns. Through the results of the two literature studies above it is known that the preparation of betel leaf extract emulgel 45% has the most effective healing ability, almost the same as the effect of biopalcenton on rabbit burns. |
