dc.description.abstractSoy milk is a source of protein and vegetable fat is very important role in life. Therefore, soy is oftn processed into milk. Soy milk is a product like cow's milk, but it is made from soy extract, it is easy to prepare so it is possible to be contaminated. One of the bacteria that can contaminate this soy milk is, coliform and colifaecal bacteria. Coliform and colifaecal bacteria are indicator microorganisms in water. This study aims to determine and determine the bacteria Escherichia coli in soy milk sold in Pasar X Tembung Kab. Deli Serdang. The analysis of Escherichia coli bacteria in soybean milk was conducted at Microbiology Laboratory of Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan Health Analyst Department on May 28, 2018 until May 30, 2018 with a sample of 6 soy milk traded in Pasar X Medan Tembung area Deli Serdang District. Analysis of Escherichia coli bacteria with the method of Most Probable Number (MPN) with planting system 5.1.1. This research is descriptive with data collection method based on primary data derived from the research. The results of this study showed that from 6 samples, the entire sample was contaminated by Escherichia coli bacteria, with the amount of MPN coliform 37ºC in sample 1, sample 2, sample 3, sample 4, sample 5 and sample 6 that is 240, and the number of MPN colifaecal 44ºC in the sample 1 is 240, sample 2 is 15, sample 3 is 21, sample 4 is 240, sample 5 is 240, sample 6 is 240.en_US
