GAMBARAN PENDERITA TB-HIV DI PUSKESMAS MUTIARA KECAMATAN KISARAN TIMUR KABUPATEN ASAHAN

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is still a public health problem that poses a global challenge. Although the TB control program in Indonesia has succeeded in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) target, the double burden due to the increase in the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) epidemic is the RNA virus which belongs to the retrovindac family and the lentivirus genus which causes a decrease in host immunity. To eliminate the replication (multiplication) of HIV, it is necessary to convert ribonucleic acid (RNA) to deoxyribonucleid acid (DNA) in the host cell. Like other retroviruses, HIV infects the body, has a long incubation period (kilnis latency) and eventually causes signs and symptoms of AIDS. Human immunodeficiency virus is present in the body fluids of PLWHA and a person can be infected with HlV when in contact with these fluids. The aim of this study was to determine the description of TB - HIV outpatients at Puskesmas Mutiara, Kisaran Timur District, Asahan Regency. Based on the results of examinations on patients who came for treatment at the Lung and STI Laboratory Room at the Mutiara Puskesmas, Kisaran Timur District from March to April, for 104 samples, data was obtained that the number of patients who were positive for TB-HIV was 3 out of 104 patients who came for treatment ( 2.88%), of the 3 TB-HIV positive patients, age 15-25 is 1 person (33.33%), age 26-36 is 1 person (33.33%), age 37-47 is 1 person (33.33% ), with the sex of 2 people (66.7%) male and 1 person (33.3%) female
