dc.description.abstractCyclamateisanartificialsweetenerthatisoftenaddedtodrinksandfood.Intrade,cyclamateisknownbythetradenamesassugrin,sucaryl,sucroseorsarimanis.Thenegativeeffectscausedbysodiumcyclamatearenotimmediate,itmayhavetowaittwoorthirtyyearslater.Theeffectsincludeincreasingthepotentialforobesity,dentaldisorders,learningdisorders,emotions,andmentalhealth.testicularwastingandchromosomaldamage.Thepurposeofthisstudywastodeterminethepresenceorabsenceofcyclamatecontentincendolice.TheexaminationwascarriedoutattheAmamiChemistryLaboratory,HealthPolytechnicoftheMinistryofHealth,Medan,DepartmentofHealthAnalystusingaqualitativetest,namelythecolortest(deposition)withatotalsampleof7samplestakenfromcendolicedrinktraders.Basedonthequalitativetestresultsobtainedfrom7samples,4positivesamplescontainedcyclamate.Byknowingthepresenceofcyclamatecontent,itishopedthatproducerswillusefoodadditivesthatdonothaveanegativeeffectonconsumerhealth.BasedontheMinisterofHealthRegulationNo.033/2012artificialsweetenersareonlyintendedforlow-energyproductsorforpeoplewithdiabetesmellitusandnotforgeneralletaloneespeciallyforchildrenen_US
