Abstract: Supragingiva calculus was a tartar which attached to the crown surface of the theteeth until the gingiva margin. This tartar was yellowish white. Brushing teeth properly can reduce the risk of dental health problems. The aim of this study was to determine the description of the brushing teeth technique against supragingiva calculus formation in students aged 10-12 years old. The location of this research was in SD Negeri 101896, Kiri Hulu I Tanjung Morawa. The type of this research was a descriptive study with survey method, which the sample amounted to 36 people. The results of this study indicated that those who use Horizontal Technique were 20 people with poor criteria of 11 peophle, Vertical Technique of 10 people with poor criteria of 3 people. Roll technique were 6 people and there were no poor criteria in this technique. Whereas the nin emale had a higher severity of supragingiva calculus compared to five females. The conclusion in this study was the right of tooth brushing technique was the Roll Technique. Because the roll method was simple but efficient and can be used in all parts of the mouth and there are no students who have supragingiva calculus poor criteria in this technique and male have higher severity of supragingiva tartar compared to female.
