dc.description.abstractDiabetes Mellitus is an important public health problem, being one of the four priority non-communicable diseases targeted for follow-up by world leaders. (WHO Global Report, 2016). Leaflets and banners are media or tools that can be used in counseling. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease with the highest number of visits in the UPTD area of the Puskesmas, North Gunungsitoli District. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of leaflets and banners on the behavior of diabetes mellitus patients in the UPTD area of the North Gunungsitoli Public Health Center in 2021. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research design with pre-test and post-test without control. The study population was all diabetes mellitus patients in the UPTD area of the North Gunungsitoli District Health Center in 2021. The research sample was diabetes mellitus patients. The results showed an increase in behavior after beinggiven counseling with leaflets and banners media with the Wilcoxon test results obtained p value <0.005 which means statistically it shows that leaflets and banners media are effective in increasing the behavior of Diabetes Mellitus patients in UPTD Puskesmas Gunungsitoli Utaraen_US
