Abstract: | Background: In tackling COVID-19, the Government has made various efforts and policies in order to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The Sibolga City Government chose to use masks and wash hands as often as possible to carry out social distancing rather than carry out a massive lockdown to break the chain of the spread of the corona virus. As a region that fully supports the central government's policy in breaking the chain of Sibolga City, its community values are not very consistent with its commitment to efforts to prevent COVID-19, while interviews with several Lurah in the Sibolga Sub-district, the Camats throughout the city of Sibolga are compact, saying that apart from the formation of the Cluster, The task of accelerating the handling of COVID 19 has also carried out many activities from the sub-district level to the environmental level (RT/RW). Subjects and Methods: This study used a quantitative correlation design method with a sample of 100 subjects. Behavior (knowledge, attitudes and actions) to prevent COVID 19 becomes a variable; The binding of the determinants of the Sibolga City Government's efforts (communication, disposition, resources and bureaucratic structure) becomes the independent variable. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the determinants of the Sibolga City Government's efforts with COVID-19 prevention behavior in Sibolga City. Results: The results showed that there was a relationship; the resources owned by the Sibolga City government in efforts to prevent COVID-19 behavior are 40.2% with a positive correlation, the strength of the correlation is sufficient (p = 0.001, r = 0.42) meaning that the resources owned by the Sibolga City government are not sufficient to make the people of the City of Sibolga Sibolga behaves to prevent or break the chain of the spread of COVID-19. Conclusion: There is a relationship; the resources owned by the Sibolga City government in efforts to prevent COVID-19 behavior. |
