Abstract: Candida albicans is part of the normal microbial flora that causes candidiasis, a type of disease caused by a fungal infection whose occurrence is most often caused by opportunistic infections. Garlic is believed to have considerable medical properties in traditional medicine. Garlic extract, can act as antifungal, has a good role in inhibiting the activity of Candida albicans. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and determine the inhibition zone of garlic extract (Allium sativum) against the growth of the fungus Candida albicans. This research is a systematic review designed descriptively using secondary data. The object of this research is 5 articles from previous research. The antifungal activity test was carried out by the diffusion method. Research conducted by (Paramesti S, et al, 2019) stated that garlic with a concentration of 100% was able to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans, classified as a strong antifungal; through research (Vandy Arrohman, et al, 2020) it is known that garlic with a concentration of 80% is able to form an inhibition zone, belonging to a strong antifungal, research (Purity Sabila A, et al, 2019) states that garlic extract with a concentration of 25% can produce a zone of inhibitory but classified as a weak antifungal; Tri Rohmatul Jannah's research, 2020 stated that at a concentration of 2.5% it was able to form an inhibitory zone, classified as moderate antifungal, and through research by Chandra Pranata et al., 2022, it was found that at a concentration of 15%, garlic extract could inhibit the growth of fungi, classified as a strong antifungal. The difference in the results of the research above is influenced by several factors, such as the solvent used, the place of sampling, and the incubation time. From the results of the five articles, it was found that garlic extract at a concentration of 100% was effective in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans, reaching a diameter of 21.6 mm.
