Abstract: Who (2008), globally the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women worldwife is 41.8%. The prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is estimated at 48.2% in Asia, 57.1% in Africa, 24.1% in America, and 25.1% in Europe (Salmariantity, 2012). Based on the results of basic health research (riskesdas) in 2013, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia is 37.1%. Sweet potatoes contain 0,61 mg of iron in 100 grams (richana, 2015), so the use of sweel potatoes cun be consumed by pregnant women to increase hemoglobin levels in red blood cells, can prevent and treot anemia because lhey are rich in iron. Ambon banana also contains specific essential amino acids, namely histidine and arginine. This nutritional content is u,seful for the /brmation and completion of the brain. Per 100 gram senting of amban hanana (l fruit) contains 73.8 g of water, 0.5 mg of iron,9 mg of vitamin c, bl A.05 ng, b2 0.08 mg, h6 0.1 mg and 28 ntgforfor which is good for the body (wardani, 2014). Consuming sweet potatoes and amhon bananas can be one solrrtion to increase the hb in pregnant women. The purpose of this studlt was to compare the effbctiveness of consumption of Sweet Potaloes and Ambon Bananas on the increa.se in hemoglobin levels of pregnani 'tvotnen in the working area of Puskesntas Batu 6, Simalungun district. The resuh,s of the stutlt were to see whether there was a dffirence in the hb of pregnant women from the three trealment groups. It can be seen in the anova table, front the tahle in the sig column. Obtained p value (p-value) : 0.000. Thus at the real level : 0.05 ho is rejected, so the conclusion obtained is that therc is a significant dffirence in the overage hb of pregnanl women based on the three treatment group.e. So it i^,; concluded that purple sweet potato and ambon banana are effective in increasing hbw during pregnancy and the strongest is ambon banana. It is recommended for pregnant women to use ambon banana as an additional source affood during pregnancy.
