dc.description.abstracthe education in Indonesia will begin to experience the impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic in 2020. The government has taken a policy by closing face-to-face lectures and replacing them with an online system. This changes the way lecturers deliver learning content and student preparation themselves. This learning method transition is expected to run smoothly. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of the Pematangsiantar Midwifery Study Program student to online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research was descriptive, conducted on 48 students of the Pematangsiantar Midwifery Study Program (second and third level) in June-July 2020. The sampling technique was total sampling. The results of this study found that cellular telephones (62.5%) were the most widely used online media, which cost around Rp. 51,000-Rp. 100,000, - (52.1%), the internet signal was not good (52.1%), self preparation before going online (52.1%), the application that the WhatsApp group was most interested in (39.6%), understand with material (60.4%), theoretical goal achievment (93.8%), practical goal achievment (45.8%), inhibiting factors were signals and internet quota (45.8%), supporting factors were quotas (47, 9%). Online effectiveness (64.6%), ease of implementation of exams (64.6%), the most popular test method was written exams (72.9%), desire to face to face after the pandemic (68.8%). Online learning has used electronic devices, effective, and face-to-face is still needed even though it is onlineen_US
