dc.description.abstractTyphoid fever is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi, which attacks the digestive tract. The clinical symptoms of typhoid fever are marked by complaints of fever that occur in the afternoon and at night, with a slow and gradual increase in temperature. Leukocytes are white blood cells that function to protect body from the threat of infection, infectious diseases, and attacks by harmful foreign substances. Diagnosis of typhoid fever in the form of clinical symptoms, physical examination, and laboratory examination. This research was descriptive analytic, namely to get an overview of the number of leukocytes in typhoid fever sufferers at Putri Hijau Medan Level II Hospital with the automatic method using a Hematology Analyzer. This research was conducted in March–June 2023. The data used in this study were primary and secondary data from 30 samples. Where it was found that the number of leukocytes decreased by 5 people (20%), the leukocytes increased by 6 people (17%), while the normal leukocytes were 19 people (63%).en_US
