Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a health problem in the Indonesian population whose numbers tend to increase and spread more widely. One of the tests performed in the diagnosis of DHF is the examination of the leukocyte count. Leukocytes are cells that act as the body's defense, helping to fight infections in the body, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi. Dengue-infected patients usually have normal leukocyte counts but then decrease (leukopenia), dominated by neutropenia. This research was conducted in March – April 2023 and aims to get an overview of the number of leucocytes in DHF patients. This research is a descriptive study, and was carried out in the laboratory of Haji General Hospital, Medan, using an automatic method (hematology analyzer), examining 15 patients with DHF. Through this study, it was discovered that 5 patients (33.4%) of DHF had normal leukocyte counts, and 10 patients (66.6%) had decreased leukocyte counts.en_US
