PEMERIKSAAN Trichomonas vaginalis PADA URIN PENYEBAB KEPUTIHAN PADA MAHASISWI POLTEKKES KEMENKES MEDAN

Abstract

Trichomonas vaginalis is a phylum of protozoa of the flagellate order, humans are the parasitic host, this can cause trichomoniasis. The characteristics of trichomoniasis are the presence of a vaginal discharge/ leucorrhea, that comes out yellow or greenish in color, very thick, frothy and has an unpleasant odor. This study aims to look at Trichomonas vaginalis that causes vaginal discharge in the urine of female students at Medan health Polytechnic of Ministry of health. The research population was female students of Medan health Polytechnic of Ministry of health majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology, totaling 575 female students. This research method was observational sampling technique using cross sectional. The research sample was 35 morning urine female students from Medan health Polytechnic of Ministry of health. Data processed, using tables and calculating the percentage of urine that contains Trichomonas vaginalis. Based on an examination conducted at the Integrated Laboratory of Medan health Polytechnic of Ministry of health with Giemsa staining of urine sediment. The researcher made the characteristics of the respondents to become the research sample based on age, religion, height, weight and address. The frequency of vaginal discharge caused by a parasite (Trichomonas vaginalis) 0% was caused by 100% non-parasitic. Based on the examination that had been carried out from 35 morning urine samples, all the results that could not be found Trichomonas vaginalis.
