Hypertension is a condition characterized by high blood pressure (systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg). The higher a person's blood pressure will make his heart work harder. Hypertension can become a serious health problem if not controlled and will develop to cause complications, such as the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney failure. High blood pressure will force the kidneys to work harder and cause damage to kidney cells which is characterized by proteinuria. Proteinuria is a condition where protein is found in the urine that exceeds normal values. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of urine protein in hypertensive patients at the Sambas Harbor Health Center, Sibolga. This research is a descriptive study, carried out at the Port of Sambas Health Center, Sibolga from April-May 2023. The population for this study was 30 hypertensive patients seeking treatment at the Port Sambas Health Center, Sibolga, while the samples were all hypertension sufferers at this Health Center. The examination was carried out by heating method with 6% acetic acid. Through research, the results were obtained: 8 people (26.7%) had proteinuria where 5 people (62.5%) of them were level I positive, 2 people (25%) were positive level II, 1 person (12.5%) were level IV positive, while 22 people (73.3%) were proteinuria negative. The number of positive urine protein in women is more, 22 people (73.3%); age > 65 years is 9 people (30%); and duration of illness > 5 years was 25 people (83.3%). Based on the research results, it is recommended that hypertensive patients who are positive for urine protein, to perform kidney function tests, including urea, creatinine, uric acid and GLF.en_US
