dc.description.abstractUrinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a type of infectious disease that continues to grow in Indonesia. Pregnant women are at greater risk of UTI infections caused by hormonal changes. In this condition, the uterus can put pressure on the urinary tract, which causes high frequency urination and increases the risk of infection in the urinary tract. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria and the prevalence of Escherichia coli infection in pregnant women at the Sentosa Baru Health Center. This research is a descriptive study that will describe the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria in the urine of pregnant women. A number of 10 urine samples of pregnant women were examined at the Integrated Laboratory, Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan. The results of research on 10 urine samples, it is known that 3 samples were infected with Escherichia coli bacteria. This study concluded that Escherichia coli bacteria is a bacteria that causes infection in the urinary tract.en_US
