Abstract

M.Kep., Sp., Mat** NURSING CARE IN THE ELDERLY WITH GOUT ARTHRITIS WITH PHYSICAL MOBILITY DISORDERS IN SIPAN SIHAPORAS VILLAGE, SARUDIK DISTRICT, TAPANULI TENGAH DISTRICT IN 2023 ABSTRACT Background: Gout Arthritis is a disease caused by excessive accumulation of uric acid in the body in the joints or commonly known as hyperuricemia (Anies, 2018). 52 elderly suffer from Gout Arthritis in Sipan Sihaporas Village, Sarudik District from January to February in 2023, while from July to December in 2022 there are 47 elderly. Objective : Carry out nursing care for the elderly who have gout arthritis with impaired physical mobility in Sipan Sihaporas, Sarudik District, in 2023. Methods : This research is a qualitative study with a case study design, and examines two elderly diagnosed with gout arthritis accompanied by with impaired physical mobility in Sipan Sihaporas Village, Sarudik District. Research data were collected through interviews, observation, and physical examination. Results: Assessment of client 1: found the main complaint of pain in the knee and right leg, fingers feeling numb, and the nursing diagnosis was impaired physical mobility. On the first day, changes in muscle strength with a value of 4, on the second day, with a value of 4, and on the third day, after ROM training, the value of muscle strength becomes 5. Assessment of the client on 2, the main complaint of pain is in the left leg and the right knee left, fingers look swollen, and the nursing diagnosis is impaired physical mobility. On the first day, the change in muscle strength was with a value of 3, on the second day, with a value of 3, and on the third day, after ROM training, the value of muscle strength was 4. Conclusion: The problem with client 1 is resolved where the client looks calm when walking. On client 2, the problem is not resolved where the client seems to have difficulty walking.
