NURSING CARE OF CHILDREN WITH THYPOID FEVER WITH NUTRITION DEFICIT AT PANDAN HOSPITAL, TAPANULI CENTRAL DISTRICT IN 2023 ABSTRACT Background: Typhus abdominalis or typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease of the small intestine with fever symptoms for one week or more, caused by Salmonella typhi (S.Typhi), accompanied by digestive tract disorders with or without impaired consciousness. According to WHO (2018), the prevalence of typhoid fever is 11.36 per 1,000 population and occurs in children under 15 years of age. Based on a preliminary survey on Monday, 20 February 2023, it is known that 192 cases were found at the Pandan Regional General Hospital in 2022. Objective: To carry out nursing care for children with typhoid fever with nutritional deficits at Pandan Hospital, Central Tapanuli Regency. Method: This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a case study approach, carried out at Pandan Hospital, Central Tapanuli Regency in 2023. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation studies. Result: After 3 days of implementation on clients 1 and 2, some of the issues were resolved. Conclusion: an increase in food portions was found for client 1 and client 2. Suggestion: it is hoped that this scientific writing can add insight and knowledge to those who read it, nurses, practice fields, educational institutions, clients and further researchers, and also in carrying out and implementing nursing care in accordance with the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards, Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards and Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards.
