Sitohang* Minton Manalu NURSING CARE FOR TODDLERS WHO EXPERIENCE DIARRHEA WITH FLUID VOLUME DEFICIT IN PANDAN HOSPITAL TAPANULI CENTRAL DISTRICT ABSTRACT Background: Diarrhea is a disease that causes the discharge of feces more than 3 times with a liquid consistency which can be accompanied by blood or mucus and the frequency is more frequent than normal. Nursing problems that may arise in children with diarrhea are fluid volume deficits. A complication of fluid volume deficit is dehydration. If there is prolonged dehydration, children can experience the risk of death. Method: The method used is a type of qualitative research in the form of a case study to explore nursing care for toddlers who experience diarrhea with fluid volume deficit nursing problems at Pandan Hospital. Data collection was carried out on two toddlers who experienced diarrhea who met the participant criteria using interview, observation and documentation study techniques. Nursing intervention. Results: the assessment of client 1 had 4x bowel movements in 1 day with a liquid consistency, on physical examination it was found in patient 1 and patient 2 experiencing dry lip mucosa, poor skin turgor, nausea and vomiting. Conclusion: after monitoring fluid intake and output and administering anti diarrheal drugs to children, the fluid balance is within normal limits, client 1 before monitoring fluid intake and output and administering anti-diarrheal drugs for dehydration, the patient is included in the mild moderate category after after monitoring for 3 days the dehydration category became diarrhea without dehydration. In client 2, before monitoring fluid intake and output, it was included in the mild moderate dehydration category, after monitoring for 3 days the dehydration scale became diarrhea without dehydration.
